The Spanish Astronomical Society (Sociedad Española de Astronomía) is the national association for Spanish professional astronomers. It was founded in 1992 and it has currently more than 700 members.

Its main goal is to promote the development of Astronomy and Astrophysics in Spain. It is the main community forum  for the discussion of the different topics of interest to professional astronomers in Spain.

It has six different commissions: scientific, professionals- amateurs,  astronomical terms in Spanish, women and astronomy, education and communication.
